Nielsens: 'Cait,' 'Sharknado' underwhelm

Cait can wait? Despite an enormous publicity campaign that included a Diane Sawyer interview, a Vanity Fair cover and a lengthy appearance at the ESPY Awards, Caitlyn Jenner's new E! reality series I Am Cait opened Sunday with an underwhelming 2.7 million same-day viewers, about the same total her former show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, earned last summer. The premiere of Kardashians-style Stewarts & Hamiltons, which followed, sunk with 938,000.

Tamer sharks. Syfy's cheesefest Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No bit into 2.8 million viewers Wednesday, down from last summer's 3.9 million. ABC's Celebrity Family Feud (8.7 million) and BattleBots (4.6 million) exited Sunday.
