The top story for some Sunday papers is the defection of the UKIP MEP Amjad Bashir to the Conservatives. The Mail on Sunday says the move from the Pakistan-born businessman is a "coup" for David Cameron. Mr Bashir has said that UKIP is a "vanity project for Nigel Farage".
Mr Bashir, who has been an MEP for one year, tells the Sunday Telegraph that UKIP had become "a party of ruthless self-interest" which was incapable of delivering an EU membership referendum. UKIP says it had suspended Mr Bashir over alleged financial and employment irregularities.
