Newly Identified Leaky Galaxy Helps Astronomers Understand Origin of Light in Universe

Astronomers have identified a galaxy which is located 2.9 billion light-years away from the Earth. The galaxy in Ursa Major has been named SDSS J0921+4509 and is pumping out huge amounts of ultraviolet radiation (UV).

Indian astronomer and assistant research scientist Sanchayeeta Borthakur and her colleagues at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore used the cosmic origins spectrograph aboard NASA's Hubble space telescope to examine the galaxy.
