New telescope instrument identifies 26 distant galaxies in just 27 hours

A group of astronomers claimed to have discovered more than two dozen distant galaxies in just 27 hours of active scanning.

The operators of the northern Chile-based Very Large Telescope (VLT) have announced that a new instrument fitted to the VLT, viz. the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE), helped them discover 26 new galaxies.
