It is common knowledge that the zebra evolved stripes as an adaptive feature for safety, right? So they could blend in with the tall grass, right? Well…maybe….

Other theories suggest that the stripes help ward off the tsetse fly; But more recent studies from German and American researchers actually suggest that zebras may have developed their stripes as an evolutionary feature that makes it easier to survive the high temperatures where they live.
