New study shows gene networks are associated with PTSD disease

A new study carried out on the blood samples of US Marines to identify genetic markers has shown that the markers are directly related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The genetic biomarkers were found associated to gene networks that are known to direct the natural immune functions and the interferon signaling of human beings.

The research was conducted on 124 male US Marines who had their blood sample taken for analysis before deployment to overseas assignments, and then had their blood tested again when they returned after 3 months at their assignment.
