New research could lead to further progress towards fighting Alzheimer's disease

According to some doctors, 2015 could be an important year ever to fight Alzheimer's disease and dementia. The Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center and Boston Medical Center will be involved in several trials and studies, together with the test to observe the effects of a drug known as T-817MA.

At present, just five drugs are approved to treat Alzheimer's disease, which are intended at slowing down early symptoms of the disease in some people. T-817MA is aimed at people who are already suffering from a degree of dementia, and it could probably change the course of Alzheimer's disease.
