A recent study that was published in the Journal of Applied Physics reveals that scientist have developed a method of development of laser pulses that could transform ordinary metals into water repellent materials that won’t have further need of temporary coatings. With the new technique the metal will have ability to absorb light, clean itself and repel water.

Study researchers that were comprised of Chunlei Guo and Anatoliy from the University of Rochester located in New York did the experiment on samples of platinum, titanium and brass. They used femtosecond laser pulses.
