The upcoming "King Kong" movie has been given a new title. Originally titled "Skull Island", it is now officially called "". Universal has also set a new release date for the film, pushing it back from November 4, 2016 to March 10, 2017 probably to avoid competition against Marvel's "".
"Skull Island" was first announced by the studio and Legendary Pictures during the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con in July. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is already on board to direct based on script penned by John Gatins ("") and Max Borenstein ("").
