(ABC 6 News) -- Experts say it’s the longest extension of survival ever seen in recent studies on treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer patients.
It’s a drug called Perjeta. Adding the drug with chemotherapy and another standard medication called Herceptin is showing a significant boost in survival for patients battling the aggressive stage of breast cancer. Both medications fight tumor cells in a variety of ways.
