A previously undiscovered species of dinosaur has been uncovered at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. It had actually been in storage for several years, but the fossil was never removed from the piece of stone in which it was embedded. Scientists had just studied the skin since it was so well-preserved. However, when two interested scientists decided to extract it, however, they found they had something no one had ever seen before.
“We had almost the entire skull, which was wonderful, but the preparation was very difficult. it took two years to dig the fossil out of the sandstone it was embedded in—it was like digging a dinosaur skill out of a concrete driveway,” said Terry Gates, researchers with the North Carolina State Univ...
