A new, aggressive HIV strain that progresses to full-blown AIDS in three years if not treated, recently infected people in Cuba, who reported having unprotected sex with many partners, as per a study carried out by international researchers in the Caribbean island nation.

The U.S. AIDS researchers are troubled by this new finding. They state that mutated HIV viruses cannot be easily diagnosed, and might show resistance to therapy, contesting the efforts for developing a vaccine.
