Need for Updated Consensus Guidelines on Donor Heart Acceptance

Where at one place a rise has been witnessed in the requirement of heart transplants, surgeons have become choosier with regard to the organs they want to use.

As per a new data from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, in 1995, 44% of the donated hearts were transplanted. By 2006, the percentage dropped to 29%, but the number improved by 2010 and was 32%.
