Nasal treatment aimed at migraine pain

Treating migraines with a painkiller delivered directly to the nerves in the back of the nasal cavity holds the promise of significant relief to patients who suffer from the debilitating headaches, according to the early findings of researchers at Albany Medical Center and Empire State College in Saratoga Springs.

In a study to be presented at the Society of Interventional Radiology's annual scientific meeting in Atlanta this week, 88 percent of participants reported using less medication for their headaches after the treatment.
