NASA set to launch spacecraft Orion into orbit in 2014, a precursor to Mars missions

The four-hour test launch out of Cape Canaveral will send the unmanned craft orbiting the Earth twice. But it probably wouldn’t be until the 2030s when astronauts would get to journey to the Red Planet.

It’s still decades away, but NASA will begin prepping a passage to the Red Planet.
