NASA’s stunning video depicting carbon dioxide emissions around the world

A striking visualization has been put together by NASA to depict how carbon dioxide flows around the world. The simulation shows plumes of carbon dioxide gushing into the atmosphere from industrial centers, and the greenhouse gas swirling from continent to continent, driven by winds of various weather systems.

This simulation has been created in 75 days on a super computer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. The super-high resolution mapping, done with the help of NASA’s GEOS-5, is 64 times as great as an average climate model. Real emission data were fed into the model and then it was made...
