Earth offers a beautiful view to stargazers who can experience meteor showers. According to a recent report, these meteor showers can be experienced from planet Mercury as well, in the same way that earth experiences them. The experience has been provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) unmanned orbiter, MESSENGER (MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging).
The orbiter has shown that Mercury has same kind of periodic showers as that of earth, but their visual appealing is different. According to scientists, it would be due to calcium spike that is produced in the planet's exosphere when a comet passes near it.
