NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has captured the best ever view of the large disk of gas and dust surrounding the 20 million-year-old star Beta Pictoris. With the freshly released images, the astronomers have detected the first star ever that had an embedded huge planet in the debris disk.
The planet, discovered in 2009, orbits the star once in every 18 to 20 years, due to which the scientists got a very short span of time to carry the study. They studied the impact of a giant planet on the massive gas and dust surrounding the star.
