On Tuesday March 31, NASA’s flying saucer entered initial testing phase. The trial took place at the space agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The new spacecraft is a “15-foot wide, 7,000-pound aerodynamic test vehicle”. It was designed with the purpose of exploring new technologies that could one day help astronauts land on Mars.
