NASA Plans to Launch Mars Parachute

NASA has plans to launch a parachute off the coast of Hawaiian Island of Kauai in an experimental flight to help them determine if the design is up to scratch for potential Mars missions. The vehicle which is the shape of a saucer is destined for flight on Tuesday next week so long as weather conditions remain stable.

The parachute is similar in design to those which have been frequently used in order to land on Mars delivering robots and rovers which scientists use to scour the landscape in the place of humans.
