At 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, NASA launched four identical spacecraft into orbit from Cape Canaveral in Florida. The spacecraft were stacked on top of one another on their launch rocket, and each deployed one by one between 12:16 a.m. and 12:31 a.m. on Friday morning.
They’ll soon be unfurling various instruments for testing, but the spacecraft will fly together in tight formation. After all, they all have the same mission: studying magnetic reconnection.
