NASA finally launches that carbon monitoring satellite

A launch-pad malfunction forced NASA to scrub the launch of its Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 satellite on Tuesday, but on Wednesday the space agency was able to ensure a successful liftoff.

NASA has launched its first spacecraft devoted to monitoring atmospheric carbon dioxide, the heat-trapping gas thought to be responsible for much of Earth's recent warming trend.
