Is there life out there in the universe? By now we know there’s an abundance of life-giving chemicals out there, but what conditions are required to spawn life as we known it (or more probable, don’t know it?) These questions have prompted NASA to allocate $50 million to 7 astrobiology research groups in the United States to find answers to these questions.
The new round of funding was announced Monday. The grants will cover 5 years of research and will average $8 million per research group, reports Discovery News.
