NASA adventurers start their exploration drive for Mars on Earth

American space agency NASA is conducting a new simulated exploration to Mars project in Hawaiian volcano Mauna Loa. Under the Hawaii Space Exploration Analog & Simulation (Hi-Seas) project, six volunteers will live in a dome-shaped building in the volcano for the next eight months, mimicking a stay on the Red Planet.

The six-man team will help investigators in determining the factors affecting the survival stamina of astronauts when they will travel to Mars and spend time on the planet. Investigators will examine how well a small group of people can survive and work together in isolation.
