The latest genetic study reveals that carnivorous bladderwort contain more genes than other well known plants.

As per the paper of Journal Molecular Biology and Evolution, the genome of carnivorous bladderwort is pretty small. However, it holds approximately 28,500 base pair of DNA. The ratio of gene is six times greater as compared to the famous plants such as grapes and coffee.
