YANGON, Myanmar — The winners of Sunday’s election in Myanmar will not be officially announced for days, but among voters who braved long lines at polling stations across the country, there was a sense of jubilation simply at being able to vote.
After five decades of military rule and a series of rigged or canceled elections, voters took part in what many described as their first genuine election.
