A museum volunteer discovered fossils of a rare ancient turtle in southern New Mexico. Jeff Dornbusch, a volunteer at the Truth or Consequences museum, was on a day hike in the arid mountains, when he discovered the fossils.

Dornbusch stumbled upon an odd-looking pile of rocks and he later discovered that it was the fossilized remains of a prehistoric sea turtle. He said that the fossil was easily identifiable due to its light grey color that stood out in the brown dirt.
