A mummified bison which is thought to be more than 9000 years old has been uncovered in Siberia. History has revealed that during its existence the world population could have been just five million. Most of the tribes which lived around 7000 BCE were hunters and experts believe that this steppe bison was driven far by hunters into the freezing north.
The Bison has been found in a mummified state in Siberia. The discovery of a steppe bison, which they found still buried in the ground was first reported by the Yukagir tribe in northern Siberia. The Steppe Bison are an ancestor of the modern Bison which is still found in Europe and North America.
