Movie reviews: 'Cinderella' and 'Run All Night'

The action takes place after dark in this week's two new wide releases, but both "Cinderella" and "Run All Night" attempt to shed light on characterization in genres that usually eschew it. Disney's fairy tale finds motivation for the iconic stepmother's wickedness and prince's charm, while Liam Neeson's latest actioner features both a mob boss and his hitman tortured by the sins of their past.

Unlike the "Sleeping Beauty" spinoff "Maleficent," "Cinderella" pretty much adheres to its animated origin and the Charles Perrault fable that inspired it.
