Movie review: 'SpongeBob SquarePants,' a trippy, silly celebration of friendship

Parents need to know thatthe "SpongeBobSquarePantsMovie: Sponge Out of Water"stars the most famous talking sponge in popular culture. Like theNickelodeon cartoon serieson which it's based, the movie hasoccasional insult language ("jerk," "stupid") and exaggerated violence. Some of the movie's humor will likely go over young kids' head(like the way everyone in "post-apocalyptic Bikini Bottom" wearsMad Max-like leather costumes) but kids will definitely get the bird poop and blowhole laser gags.SpongeBobisn't known for being educational, but themovie, like most of the shows, does stressthe importance of teamwork and friendship.
