More than 40 Percent Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions Needed to Tame Global Warming

According to a report by the United Nations on climate change, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by more than 40 percent by mid-century to avoid the dangers of global warming which are already being felt across all continents.

The report by International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that the current pledges by several nations to cut emissions are not adequate to limit temperature increase to UN’s recommendations. The report was the work of hundreds of experts from around the globe.
