A new research has found that one in three donated hearts is being used for transplantation in America. The researchers found that rejection rates differ by place. Such findings call for new guidelines to help doctors to utilize these organs.
The study published in the American Journal of Transplantation found that donor heart utilization has reduced from 44% in 1995 to 32% in 2010. The percentage in the latter year might be considered low, but it is still better from low of 29% in 2006.
