More aggressive treatment for high blood pressure could save lives

A major new study shows treating high blood pressure more aggressively than usual cuts the risk of heart disease and death in people over age 50.

The findings are from a study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) called the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT).
