In ‘Mommy,’ 25-year-old director Xavier Dolan offers full-throttle emotion

NEW YORK — Sam Fuller, the cigar-chomping master of the American B-movie, had an indelible cameo in Jean-Luc Godard’s classic 1965 film “Pierrot le Fou.” While he has the screen, Fuller offers a credo. “Film is like a battleground,” he exclaims. “Love. Hate. Action. Violence. Death. In one word . . . emotion.”
