Modi’s first foreign visit will be to Bhutan

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first visit abroad will be to neighbouring Bhutan, the tiny Himalayan nation regarded by many as India's only all-weather friend in the neighbourhood.

Modi has consciously decided to start his foreign sojourns with Bhutan, in keeping with his neighbourhood outreach which played out recently in the form of invitations to all Saarc leaders to attend his swearing-in on May 26. Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay attend Modi's oath-taking.
