Modest Decline Witnessed in Rate of Early Elective Deliveries

After witnessing a significant increase in inducing labor or an elective surgery for nearly two decades, a new report by the National Center for Health Statistics, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has found a modest decline in the same.

Experts have warned that babies delivered even a few weeks before full term can suffer short and long-term health problems, including feeding issues, breathing problems and developmental deficits.
