Missouri Man Pleads Guilty for Hoax Threats of Contamination to City Water Supplies

A Missouri man was found guilty for raising a false alarm through telephone reports in October that water supplies in four cities in Missouri and Kansas were set to be contaminated. Manuel Garcia, 70, confessed during the hearing that he called police and federal official and claimed that an unknown substance would contaminate water in Kansas City and St. Louis along with Wichita and Topeka, Kansas.

The US attorney's office in Kansas City heard that Garcia reported that four men in uniforms of a plumbing company were going to execute their plans to contaminate the water supplies.
