The governor signed bill Wednesday to prohibit people younger than 18 from using indoor tanning devices. Vermont, California, Illinois, Oregon, Nevada, Texas and Washington have similar bans. Preventing access to tanning devices is 'critical to preventing skin cancer,' the president of the American Academy of Dermatology Association says.
Minnesota has become the eighth state to ban indoor tanning for minors, effective Aug. 1.
