The former chairman of Dallas-based Dean Foods, Tom C. Davis, and secretive Las Vegas gambler William “Billy” Walters were charged in an insider-trading scheme that also ensnared pro golfer Phil Mickelson.

Federal prosecutors say Davis and Walters communicated with prepaid cell phones and used code words to hide their crimes.
