JOPLIN, MO--- A very special day for the Joplin community as many celebrate the re-opening of Mercy Hospital Joplin. It's been almost four years since it was ravaged by the May 2011 tornado that left 161 people dead. From working in a 60-bed tent facility just days after the storm, to a stone-hardened $465 million dollar structure-- the road to recovery is now complete.
"I was actually at home. And my daughter called me and said, we're fine, but the house is gone," explains long-time Mercy doctor, Walter Dandridge Jr.
