Memorial for spaceship crash victim held, pilot hailed as hero of space exploration

A memorial was held for Michael Alsbury, the pilot who died during the test flight accident of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo. More than a thousand mourners gathered to remember Alsbury along with his wife and two children.

WhiteKnightTwo, the mothership of SpaceShipTwo flew over the Mojave baseball stadium where the memorial took place.
