Mediterranean-style diet Reduces Ischemic stroke’s Risk

Mediterranean diet has been found to reduce the risk of ischemic stroke in women, but has not been very effective in cases of hemorrhagic stroke.

A typical Mediterranean diet comprises of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts, whole grains, fish, lean poultry and a lot of olive oil. The diet followers have restricted consumption of red meat, dairy, sugar and saturated fats.
