Many adults have trouble sleeping at night simply because they struggle with turning their mind off at the end of the day. Add stress to the mix and it can get increasingly complicated to come down and relax when it is time to sleep. A recent study has found a potential way around this however, by introducing mindful meditation as a habit.
Mindful meditation is basically the act of sitting calmly and quietly while focuses on deep breathing and clearing the mind. It has been found to be better at promoting restful sleep than other relaxation techniques, according to the study published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.
