Measles outbreak fuels vaccination debate

The nation’s measles caseload spiked nearly 350 percent last year, intensifying the controversy over parents who decide not to vaccinate their children.

An ongoing outbreak that started at Disneyland has only increased public attention to the immunization issue, with 41 cases confirmed as of Friday — including 10 in San Diego County. Virtually all of them had not been vaccinated for the potentially deadly disease.
