It’s looking less and less like the proposed $45 billion merger between Comcast Comcast and Time Warner Time Warner is going to happen. Bloomberg Bloomberg reported earlier this week that Department of Justice attorneys are planning to recommend that the DOJ block the deal. Many groups and companies (including Netflix) oppose the deal and Comcast might also have a difficult time convincing the FCC FCC that the deal makes sense considering that body’s new regulations to protect net neutrality.
Brian Nichols at Seeking Alpha suggests that at this point, it won’t really hurt Comcast if the company doesn’t gobble up Time Warner. He makes an interesting argument.
