Massachusetts' MMJ Program Faces Lawsuits and Ohio Enters the Legalization Race: The Leafly Cannabis Legalization Update

The Illinois Department of Agriculture will be announcing the recipients of 21 coveted medical marijuana cultivation licenses to supply the four-year pilot program for medical cannabis. With over 150 applicants, the burgeoning market is attracting entrepreneurs from the major cannabis markets, but at a high cost. The fee to apply is $25,000, with another $200,000 during the first year if selected for a cultivation permit, followed by another $100,000 every year after, along with providing evidence of financial responsibility. Yowch! Here’s hoping the Chicago cannabis market will be wildly successful.
