Marvin Gaye’s Family Suggests Pharrell’s “Happy” Could Be a Rip-Off of Another Gaye Song

“Blurred Lines” is not be the only Pharrell track that Marvin Gaye’s family thinks bears an uncanny resemblance to a song by the “Prince of Motown.” Shortly after a jury awarded Gaye’s family $7.4 million, agreeing that Pharrell and Robin Thicke’s 2013 hit “Blurred Lines” is a rip-off of “Got to Give It Up,” Gaye’s family suggested as much during an interview with E.T.
