Mark Hamill never expected to play Luke Skywalker again. Like, EVER.

This generation of youngsters with their iPhones and Apple Watches have Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian as pop-culture icons, but in a galaxy far, far away — or, at least the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s — Mark Hamill was it. The guy played the supervillain Trickster on CBS’ criminally short-lived The Flash, was arguably THE quintessential Joker on Batman: The Animated Series before Heath Ledger came along, and of course used the Force, took down a Death Star and defeated the Empire as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Hamill, now 63, is still waiting for another turn as the Joker, but he reprises the maniacal James Jesse in CW’s latest The Flash series Tuesday and, come Dec. 18, he’s back on the big screen with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and crew in J.J.
