Marijuana advertiser finds a friend in The New York Times

Sunday’s New York Times may break new ground for an industry that still operates in a legal grey zone. A company that promotes marijuana has bought a full-page ad in the paper, in yet another sign of how pot is emerging from the shadows.

Leafly, the website behind the ad, provides information about cannabis including reviews of more than 800 strains of the drug as well as a guide to licensed stores and dispensaries. Think Yelp or Consumer Reports, but for weed.
