Many consumers check for calorie-count labeling before purchase

Many restaurant meal consumers confess to checking the listed calorie information on food before buying since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mandated restaurant chains with 15 or more outlets to publish the calorie information of their food meals as labels listed on the food packs.

Many restaurant frequenters never really bothered to check for this labeling information, but since the FDA had requested food chains to have it published on their products, the awareness of consumers has been sensitized to checking it out. Many other consumers however still do not check it.
